About this workshop

The success of a business is much more than just the product itself. Today’s environment requires a much stronger focus on the businesses key measures and outcomes that will assist us in making the best business decisions.

This workshop aims to provide owners with tools they can use daily to better their businesses.

Too often the starting point in business viability, growth, and stability falls back to businesses profit & loss and future business planning to guide owners through this territory. Business planning is seen by many to be quite difficult; the realm of accountants, not owners.

This program has been designed with NGIA assistance to provide participants with a simple-to-complete and understand business plan process.

Workshop outcomes

At the completion of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Leave the session with a completed 12 month business plan for their business
  • Fully understand the purpose of the business plan
  • Complete the business plan
  • Understand the elements of a business plan including: marketing, setting prices and the difference between profit & loss reporting and cash flow.
Workshop outline

  • Current business situation
  • SWOT analysis
  • Sales and marketing
  • Business resources including equipment, funding, staffing and organisational charting
  • 12 month profit & loss
  • 12 month cash flow

Target audience

All owners and managers accountable and responsible for the success in terms of profitability and growth of their business.

Workshop prerequisites

Participants are required to bring (or be prepared to estimate):

  • Their latest 12 month profit & loss in total and by month
  • Current debtors & creditors and bank balances
  • The total value of stock and equipment (assets)
  • A calculator
