Memberships
Our membership base continues to grow, with more members being recruited from regional areas. Besides the benefits on offer, communication is a strong factor in member recruitment and retention. Member benefits include a range of discounts on offer to industry workshops, airline corporate clubs, Eftpos card rates and qualified IR advice.
Industry Workshops
Throughout the year, NGIWA offers a range of technical and commercial training programs to help build better business. The national body, NGIA, has provided valuable assistance in the organising of these programs in content. As well as main centres, these programs are also offered in regional areas.
NGIWA's GrowWA Magazine
Produced on a monthly basis the GrowWA magazine is mailed out to members and is made available for collection at several gardening outlets around WA. A broad range of issues are covered to provide interesting and informative news to our members.
Industrial Relations
Through NGIWA's affiliation with WRMC (Workplace Relations Management Consultants) members are able to access up-to-date information relevant to IR issues within their own businesses. Depending on the individual business structure, both federal and state issues are covered. This has proved to be a well-used and useful member benefit.
Awards of Excellence
NGIWA recognises the industry's highest achievers across a range of awards. Entry is open to all members and covers small to large sized businesses. Keen judging ensures members are able to showcase the best of what garden centres and production nurseries have to offer. It is also a great opportunity for businesses to improve their own standards as measured against the judging criteria and feedback. Merely by participating, all businesses are winners.
NextGen
NextGen was launched in WA during 2007 to offer networking opportunities to the youth of industry and to encourage these future leaders to participate in industry activities. The initiative has been well supported.
